First comes love....

(2001)Then comes marriage....
(2005)

And after 4 of these to confirm

coming to a Wallace household near you.....

is a baby!!! (I suppose it can be in a baby carriage so I can continue with the nursery rhyme)

About 2 months ago we found out we were pregnant!! It was kind of scary at first because when I went to my first dr's appt. they did an ultrasound and said it looked like it was an ectopic pregnancy. So for a week I had to go in every couple days so they could check my blood and then they confirmed that my blood levels were going up the way they should and that everything was fine. So it was a short lived scare, thank goodness. My first official dr's appt. to find out everything isn't until March 13th so I don't even know when I am due or really how far along I am. I am pretty sure I am about 2 months, give or take a week or so. I am so excited for my appointment! Elliot is really excited too which is totally adorable. So far I haven't been too sick or anything. I get pretty nauseous when I get too hungry but I can usually avoid that as long as I keep something in my stomach most of the day. One thing that has changed is that I can't stand the taste, smell or thought of any kind of meat, especially chicken. Yuck. My gag reflex is acting up now just typing about it. It is kind of an adventure with food right now. One day something will taste sooooooo good and the next day I am disgusted by the thought of that food. Very odd. Last week I couldn't get enough grilled cheese sandwiches and this week cheese does not sound appetizing. Taco Bell sounds pretty good. Yumm. Bean burrito with mild sauce. And I can't get enough veggie deli sub sandwiches. I had one for lunch yesterday and then dinner and again at lunch today and I asked Elliot a few minutes ago if we could get one for dinner and he gave me a weird look so I am not sure if that means yes or not. I'll have to play up the pregnancy card on this one. :)

Best birthday EVER!

So yesterday was my 26th b-day. Elliot made it very special. After work (ya, I know, I had to work. ugh) he took me to the Cheesecake Factory. Yummmm. That is where we went last year for my birthday so I guess this is some sort of tradition now. Although next year I want to go to the melting pot so I think the tradition will end.

After dinner we went home and Elliot gave me my gift. Drum roll please. drrruuuummmm........

Whoa!!! What is it? I look so excited! I'll tell you what it is....
A CRUISE TO COZUMEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We leave the first week in May and I can't wait!!
Best birthday present ever. I would write more but I am really tired and it is past my bedtime. Maybe tomorrow.

Life in the fast lane

So on Friday I was minding my own business, driving to work, and about 5 miles from work traffic slowed down and we were at a standstill. When traffic started moving again, my car decided it had had enough and was not going anywhere. It died in the middle of morning rush hour traffic!!!! I was in the second lane over from the fast lane on a four lane interstate. Not good. Everyone behind me started honking and had to go around me and I definitely made some people late for work. I even got to be on the morning traffic report (in the form of "stalled car on I-285 N bound, minor delays") I ended up having to call 911 for the first time in my life (which was not nearly as exciting as I had envisioned it would be. Quite disappointing actually) and they sent a cop out to push me over to the shoulder of the road. What an experience. While I was waiting for the cop everyone was giving me dirty looks as if I had planned this and was enjoying holding up traffic!! Slightly stressful morning. Our car is in the shop now and won't be done until Tuesday. Timing belt. Whatever that is. I feel like I can't even be that upset at the poor little car though cause we have had it for 3 1/2 years and have only had to do routine maintenance on it. So I guess we are due for some kind of major repair. I hope this isn't the first of many though. We need that little beat up car to last us one more year until Elliot graduates. Then it can make it's way to car heaven.
