Plenty to tell you about

So I had a dr's appt. last week. The dr. measured my uterus and said it was measuring 33 cm's and it should have only been measuring 30 cm's which means the baby is measuring big. She said it could be measuring bigger for multiple reasons (position of the baby, extra fluid in the uterus) but she wants me to come in for an ultrasound to check out everything just in case. So I am going in this Friday for another ultrasound! I am so excited. They apparently can measure different parts of the baby to be able to tell how much it weighs. I can't wait to see another ultrasound of it since it has gotten so much bigger since the last ultrasound! The dr. said if it is measuring big she is going to put me on a higher protein, lower carb diet. I guess that would make the baby not grow as fast? She also said that if the baby gets to 10.5 lbs before delivery, she will definitely do a c-section. I am hoping that she could just induce me before it ever gets that big but I guess we'll have to see.
Here are some pictures of my growing stomach. This one is a view of what I see everyday. I had to stick out my foot to be able to see it.
This skirt is quickly becoming one of the only articles of clothing that still fit me.

In other news, I cut my hair! One day after work, on a whim, I went into Fantastic Sam's and asked the lady to cut my hair anyway she would like as long as it wasn't too short. After she was done I was a little shocked by how short it was but I am getting more and more used to it. I haven't quite figured out how to do it yet, but I am working on it. I took about 15 pictures to put up on this blog and these are the only two that didn't make my face look completely massive. I am excited for the day it goes back to it's normal size. (along with my hands, feet, thighs, butt, and stomach. And don't even hint that everything is not going to go back to the way it was or I will freak out).I think that is about all that has been happening. I can't believe I am already almost at 32 weeks!!!! So crazy. We have started looking at some baby stuff and there is so much cute baby stuff out there. I want it all. Unfortunately the prices of these cute items are not conducive to someone who is shortly going to be unemployed. The one big item that we are looking into right now is a stroller. Any suggestions? I would love to hear what anyone has to say about buying anything for a new baby. Any items I just can't live without? Or brands that are better then others? Please advise.

very cute belly pictures. Babies dont need much besides diapers and a mama. There is way too much cute stuff!! And i have no advice about brands etc... I have always had to go for whatever was on sale. I dont think i could have lived with out a swing for Beckam..... but every baby is defferent.

Hey cute pictures! As far as stuff you'll need, each child and family is different. I'd recommend a umbrella stroller (cheap collapsible kind) but he/she won't need it until 6-ish months. Some people swear by a swing, some a sling, some a bouncy seat, some your arms (mine was that one) and others yet more strange things. I had most those things. She didn't like the sling, the bouncy seat, tolerated the swing (hallelujah!), but was happiest in my arms. Binkies, depends if you're the kind who agrees with them. I had a pump and bottles--ended up needing them, but most don't. I also have a jogging stroller. My daughter wouldn't ride in the darn thing until she was 18 months old (the stinker). I recommend one with a stationary first wheel. The ones that turn (supposed to help with navigating the bulbous thing) just pitches you over your child. NOT GOOD. Anyway, I'd tell you more, but this is LONG enough!

I LOVE your haircut! I can't even begin to tell you how much I Love it! I totally think you should keep it!

As far as the stroller goes, I've had both the big comfy kind and then the small cheap-o umbrellas and I Love the umbrella's so much more. There was nothing more annoying than when you're shopping and you can't get those huge strollers through the isles. I have seen some nicer umbrella style strollers that were really cool, but they were like $100 -- you know, something you ask for at a baby shower or for christmas.

I have no children, but I can tell you that some people I know waited a long time before they bought a crib for their baby, and they ended up getting one used on ebay or craigslist or something like that. She slept in a bassinette when she was little, although her father often joked about putting her in a drawer. He never did, though. I think your hair looks great, and your belly is fabulous, and if you want to see some pictures from my Austin trip, I just updated my blog.

Everytime I see a pic of you pregnant I just smile, I still can't believe it. I'm in total shock. I wish I could be there to see it with my own eyes, and then of course watch you and Elliot attempt to handle it, what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall. Good times.

About baby gear - every mom is different, but even every kid is different. I just try to get all kinds of baby gear from garage sales and then its cheaper and I didn't pay a bunch of money for something that I might end up not using much. Lots of stuff you just don't know until you try it out with your baby.

For strollers . . . we've tried everything (literally) except a jogging stroller because I'm not a joggger at all. I think it's nice to have a big comfy one that is a 'travel system' so that the carseat can drop into it and latch in. That can be so handy to not have to wake up the baby. The bigger the wheels, the better the mobility. That is what I have used the most with all 3 kids. We also bought an umbrella stroller, but usually don't use it much unless we are travelling and don't have car space for the big one OR if we want to have 2 kids in separate strollers at the same time, we'll put the biggest kid in the umbrella stroller.

And lastly, about getting your body back - best of luck (sincerely) you'll be a little caught off guard by it's status right at first, but I believe it is doable after your first baby . . . unless you go having 3 babies in 4 years, and if that's your plan, you're pretty much out of luck. Mine is like a foreign object these days - kinda sad.

Keep the prego updates coming. I love reading them. (And sorry my response was so long - sometimes I just can't shut my mouth).

Hey girl - I LOVE the Hair! Love all the belly pics as always too. Good job on measuring 33 cm! Give us an update after the ultrasound on Friday...that is exciting! I am going through the whole what to buy stage too. The thing I will say at this point for advice on stuff is... I have read and heard that Graco is the best brand to buy for car seats (best for safety, durability etc). Are you planning to register anywhere?

Hey Tracy. Hang in there. Yesterday, I was giving my twins a bath and I was thinking about how much I love their bath seat. It is the kind of bath seat that clamps onto the side of the bathtub and the baby sits in it. I think Safety First is the brand of ours, but I believe there are other brands. Your baby won't be able to use it until he/she is about 6 months old, but it sure makes bathing so much easier and fun.

Okay, I thought of something else that I love. My changing table. I don't have to bend over or get in a weird position to change diapers I have all of my supplies right there and my Diaper Champ right next to it. By the way, I hate Diaper Genies you have to get special liners for it and to me they are not very user friendly. I like my Diaper Champ because it uses regular trash bags and is easier for me to use. Just my opinion though, of course you can do whatever you want. I am sure you are getting more opinions about things than you want or need.
