C-section: $12,000
2 week NICU stay: $75,000
Being able to bring this little animal home healthy:
PRICELESS
So we got the hospital bill for Graham and I. Wow. Who do they think they are kidding? For the 2 hour procedure that resulted in a 7 inch scar across my abdomen they charged us 13,000 dollars!! seriously?? You would think for that price they could have at least had the decency to cut off the handfuls of saggy, stretch marked skin that is now called my stomach. Geez. I mean, you were already down there.

Moving on to Graham's bill. Ok, I understand he was in the NICU for 2 weeks, hooked up to all kinds of expensive machines, not to mention plenty of tests were done on him daily, so I was planning for it to be expensive. But 75,000 dollars!?!?!?
I had absolutely no idea it would be anywhere in that vicinity. Crazy. In spite of these outrageous bills, I am really grateful he was born at a hospital that had the tools and staff available to make him better with no lasting side effects.
I am also grateful for Medicaid..... :)

Holy smokes. Our bill was $20,000 for Cade and I... and everything went perfectly. We were laughing (well laughing and crying) when we got the bill because it was like $5 every time I took 1 aspirin. They need to put price tags on everything. I thought that the nurse was being so sweet for getting me these socks because my feet were cold... what I didn't know what that they were $20. No wonder everybody says to get a job in healthcare.
WOW, that is insane! I remember when I got the bill for Kayden's delivery. I think between he and I we totaled about $30,000. But I couldn't believe they charged HIM for "operating room services." The only time he was in the OR was when the docs removed him from my belly, and then for about 2 seconds so I could see him before they passed him off to the NICU area to get cleaned up. They charged him $5000 for those 2 seconds..... I love medicaid too!!
ugh! That's horrible! I'm glad you guys don't have to worry about actually paying it!
I hear ya! Our bill for Jayden was over $130,000. Maybe more, I kind of lost track after the millionth bill. His 45 minute life flight was $10,000 and they didn't even offer my husband a drink! And seriously, I'm with you on the fix the stomach while they're down there thing. They should throw in a free tummy tuck for all new moms they charge enough. If it weren't for Medicaid though, we'd probably still be paying it off.
Ok, so I was feeling really bad for you until I got to the part about medicaid! We have that too and I'm looking forward to having everything paid for! :) Thank goodness we're poor! :)
dang, that is expensive! i haven't even seen a bill for paisley-not that it matters or insurance is boss and we won't be paying a penny, so glad you aren't either!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!
