Life in the fast lane

So on Friday I was minding my own business, driving to work, and about 5 miles from work traffic slowed down and we were at a standstill. When traffic started moving again, my car decided it had had enough and was not going anywhere. It died in the middle of morning rush hour traffic!!!! I was in the second lane over from the fast lane on a four lane interstate. Not good. Everyone behind me started honking and had to go around me and I definitely made some people late for work. I even got to be on the morning traffic report (in the form of "stalled car on I-285 N bound, minor delays") I ended up having to call 911 for the first time in my life (which was not nearly as exciting as I had envisioned it would be. Quite disappointing actually) and they sent a cop out to push me over to the shoulder of the road. What an experience. While I was waiting for the cop everyone was giving me dirty looks as if I had planned this and was enjoying holding up traffic!! Slightly stressful morning. Our car is in the shop now and won't be done until Tuesday. Timing belt. Whatever that is. I feel like I can't even be that upset at the poor little car though cause we have had it for 3 1/2 years and have only had to do routine maintenance on it. So I guess we are due for some kind of major repair. I hope this isn't the first of many though. We need that little beat up car to last us one more year until Elliot graduates. Then it can make it's way to car heaven.
