12 Weeks
Yeah!!! I am at 12 weeks. Totally unexpected and exciting. I am soooo glad I am further along then I thought I was. I am almost out of my first trimester. Whew. My Dr. is the greatest which I am relieved about. I was worried I wouldn't like her. She is really nice and funny and she's 8 months pregnant herself! Crazy. She came to introduce herself and I was pretty surprised by her stomach size. She said she will only miss 1 or 2 of my appointments so that is good. They did a sonogram and Elliot and I got to see the baby. I will post pictures later because I know you are all as excited about the 2 inch creature growing inside of me as I am. The baby was wiggling around a bunch and totally showing off for the camera. My kind of baby. It was cute seeing Elliot get so excited about it. He is going to be such a good dad. I think we were both amazed to actually see a picture of something that is inside of me. It is a little surreal. I can't wait for it to get bigger and to start feeling it!! I think this whole pregnancy experience is pretty great.

My first dr's appointment is today!
At 3:30 I get to meet my OB and FINALLY find out how far along I am! I am dying to know. I am guessing I am about 10 weeks along but I hate to actually type that because I am probably jinxing myself and the Dr. is going to tell me I am 4 weeks along or something equally ridiculous. I hope it isn't any less then 10 weeks though. I am dying for this to move along faster. I can't wait to start showing. I am a little nervous about the appointment. I haven't really thought about them finding out anything bad until today. I started freaking myself out thinking about anything bad that can happen. It is hard not to think about it at all even though I know it isn't a good thing to do. Hopefully everything will be perfect, they will tell me that I am actually 30 weeks along (surprise!) and I will have a baby soon and be able to quit my job. What a good day that would be.

Best birthday EVER!
So yesterday was my 26th b-day. Elliot made it very special. After work (ya, I know, I had to work. ugh) he took me to the Cheesecake Factory. Yummmm. That is where we went last year for my birthday so I guess this is some sort of tradition now. Although next year I want to go to the melting pot so I think the tradition will end.
After dinner we went home and Elliot gave me my gift. Drum roll please. drrruuuummmm........Whoa!!! What is it? I look so excited! I'll tell you what it is....
A CRUISE TO COZUMEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We leave the first week in May and I can't wait!!
Best birthday present ever. I would write more but I am really tired and it is past my bedtime. Maybe tomorrow.

Life in the fast lane

So on Friday I was minding my own business, driving to work, and about 5 miles from work traffic slowed down and we were at a standstill. When traffic started moving again, my car decided it had had enough and was not going anywhere. It died in the middle of morning rush hour traffic!!!! I was in the second lane over from the fast lane on a four lane interstate. Not good. Everyone behind me started honking and had to go around me and I definitely made some people late for work. I even got to be on the morning traffic report (in the form of "stalled car on I-285 N bound, minor delays") I ended up having to call 911 for the first time in my life (which was not nearly as exciting as I had envisioned it would be. Quite disappointing actually) and they sent a cop out to push me over to the shoulder of the road. What an experience. While I was waiting for the cop everyone was giving me dirty looks as if I had planned this and was enjoying holding up traffic!! Slightly stressful morning. Our car is in the shop now and won't be done until Tuesday. Timing belt. Whatever that is. I feel like I can't even be that upset at the poor little car though cause we have had it for 3 1/2 years and have only had to do routine maintenance on it. So I guess we are due for some kind of major repair. I hope this isn't the first of many though. We need that little beat up car to last us one more year until Elliot graduates. Then it can make it's way to car heaven.
